Welcome to your Friday morning television briefing. Just a few quick headlines this morning as I've been called to perform my civic duty today and have to drive downtown for jury duty. Macaulay Culkin will appear in a multiple-episode arc on NBC's midseason drama Kings , where he will play the nephew of King Silas Benjamin (Ian McShane) who has been exiled from the kingdom of Shiloh for mysterious reasons. Also slated to appear in the series: Miguel Ferrer ( Crossing Jordan ), Leslie Bibb ( Popular ), Michael Stahl-David ( The Black Donnellys ), and the previously reported Brian Cox . ( Entertainment Weekly 's Ausiello Files ) (Aside: I saw the pilot for Kings about two months back and while it was gorgeously directed, I thought that the pacing (it's currently scheduled to air as a two-hour) was glacially slow and could use significant tightening; I think it would be a hell of a lot more compelling at 60 or even 90 minutes.) I watched the first two episodes of 30 Rock 's third season last week and am just itching with excitement to talk about it more. Ever since we finally found out who the man in the coffin was (and saw the island disappear into the ether), I've been dying with anticipation to find out just what will happen next on Lost . Thankfully, the big news this morning is, of course, the long-awaited reveal of the new promo for Season Five of Lost , which kicks off on ABC in 2009. Anxious to see the promo yourself? Fret not, as I've included it right after the jump. So what can we make out from this tantalizing teaser promo? For one Hurley and Sayid meet up but rather than engage in hugs and catching up have to battle some baddies and head to a safehouse, Kate tells Aaron they're "on vacation" and packs a gun, Daniel Faraday explores the island with a pith helmet and a compass, Ben and Jack discuss second chances, Sun finds herself locked in a room with some government-types... and they are all likely in big trouble from Charles Widmore and other interests intent on determining just what happened to the...

Another fantastic installment of Pushing Daisies , but have we come to expect any less of this gorgeously crafted series? My only complaint about the series is, of course, that not enough people are watching and the clock is ticking away for the fate of Pushing Daisies as ABC has yet to order any additional scripts. Sigh. On this week's episode of Pushing Daisies ("Frescorts")--written by Lisa Joy, Gretchen Berg, and Aaron Harberts--the gang investigates the murder of a professional best friend as new BFFs Chuck and Olive go undercover (as Kitty Pimms and Patty Boots respectively) as potential Frescort trainees, Emerson attempts to negotiate a new relationship with his best friend/mother Calista ( Everwood 's Debra Mooney) and finally comes clean about a secret, and Chuck and Ned try to find new footing in their relationship now that she's living with Olive. And, of course, there was that jaw-dropping last scene in which Chuck surprised Ned (who earlier offered ...

How many of you tuned in to watch the CW's latest fashion-related reality competition series, Stylista , last night? By now you've not only read my advance review of the first two episodes of Stylista but had a chance to catch the premiere episode yourself. So I'm curious to know: what did you think? Did you fall for Stylista 's charms or did you think it was too much of a reality version of Devil Wears Prada ? Did you think that Elle magazine editor Anne Slowey was out-bitched by contestant Megan? How much longer can Kate (a.k.a. I had a wonderful night of telly viewing last night, between another fantastic episode of Pushing Daisies , Old Christine , and Dirty Sexy Money . The former Veronica Mars star--who appeared in last season's short-lived vampire drama Moonlight --has signed on to star in HBO comedy pilot The Washingtonienne , based on Jessica Cutler's semi-autobiographical book of the same name.
